Joy Siegel

Joy Siegel, MBA, Cultural Gerontologist, Doctoral Candidate at NSU Feb 2012, spent 15 years as a fundraiser in the non-profit service community. During that time she had the opportunity to work with many fantastic people and raised over $350 million. Meanwhile, her mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and Joy found adding caregiver to her list of jobs. Joy decided to go back to school and complete her lifelong dream of earning her Doctoral Degree in Organizational Leadership and Gerontology. Since 2008 Joy has been consulting with organizations that provide services to the senior population. She has established numerous programs that provide mental health support to seniors and is a highly recognized motivational speaker with her "Privileged Years Series" teaching people that despite the challenges of aging, there are many beautiful gifts that can only be acquired by maturity. Today Joy's mother has been living with PD for over 17 years and serves as a miracle for the work that Joy does.

Joy hosted and produced public access radio shows for stations throughout Florida and the Northwest for over 5 years. Her guests have included every President since George Bush to Barack Obama, actor Alan Alda,  Placido Domingo, Maya Angelou, and James Patterson.

Joy will soon be heard on Webmasterradio.fm with her show "Around the Block" discussing intergenerational issues. This show will be available for podcast.


Michele Smith





Michele has over 25 years experience teaching, coaching and administering recreation and sports programs. She obtained her B.S. in Sports Management from Towson University (Maryland) where she earned an athletic scholarship for women's basketball and an M.S. in Sports Administration from West Chester University (PA).

Michele has taught toddlers through adults at Boston University, Florida Atlantic University, David Posnack Jewish Community Center, Broward County Adult Education, and is currently instructing at Johnson and Wales University.
